Photoshop Tutorial - Processing a Backlit Image.
For nature photographers, this might commonly happen with an image of a bird in flight.
This image of a rough-legged hawk, especailly the whites, look too dark, and the background seems a bit washed out. Shadow/Highlight may not provide the fine control we would like.

How many times has this happened? Usually for me, concert photography is where I have to apply the backlit screen. But this nature photography is a general help, for choosing one subject to focus on.
